My Graduation

YAY!!! It's my BIG day today!!! I managed to catch sufficient amount of sleep for the long day that I would have to go through. Cut it short, the convo ceremony started at 230pm, and all graduates were supposed to be seated by 220pm. Well, since my apt is just opposite USM, I thought I'd have loads of spare time by starting my journey there at 145pm. Boy, I was so wrong! We took the wrong turn in USM and ended up going in a loop which led to nowhere but the exit gate! Clock was ticking to 200...210...215... -.-" I was so so nervous thinking that I was surely missing the convo ceremony already! HF boldly took a narrow turn (because the road was blocked) to get to the convo hall no matter what, and fortunately it led to the convo hall. Phew, I ran towards it as fast as I could with my high heels (ouch!). It was such a relief to see so many graduates from my faculty still hanging around the lobby, taking pictures, etc. I knew I wasn't too late and could still make it! After much heart-thumping rush and help from my friends I occasionally bumped into, I managed to get the robe nicely worn, thank God! It was pleasant seeing all my coursemates again in the hall.

I am so glad that my parents came for the ceremony despite having to sit through the boring ceremony which lasted for 3 hours just to be able to watch me go on the stage to get my scroll. :-)

Bro, SIL (sis in-law), and Chloe were already waiting around 530pm. It was really wonderful to have them attending my convo to celebrate the joy with me, hehe. The convo wouldn't have meant so much without them, hehe. Bro truly gave immeasurable effort to be the 'cameraman' of the day (dedicated just for me :P) of taking almost 3 hours of pics with his geng chau nikon! I am truly blessed by all my family members' support and love! YEAH!! You'll get to see his masterpiece by the end of this post.

It was really sweet to be seeing my CG members (both from Hope and USM) being present for this memorable occasion. I also received plenty of gifts from them. My 'lil sis' also came, JUST FOR ME! Aww... I am truly touched by all their sincerity. :-)

The day continued with plenty of photoshoot with basically anyone I knew, HAHA! I had a satisying dinner with my family, not to mention the quench of thirst (PHEW!) that we all savoured after a few hours of dehydration! I believe not only me, but all my innocent family members also got caught in that situation... so cham... :-( More photoshoots after we got home. Ok, enough of story telling, here are the masterpiece as promised

Places To Eat, YUM!

I am back!!! Did anyone miss me? :P Well, I have been really busy for the past week, and had limited access to the internet, hence I couldn't find time to make any new post. So here I am, spending my LAST day in USM, yeah, seriously, this will be the last night I will be staying in this house... will be leaving this memorable place the very next day... and for good... :(

Having that said, I am going to write something about the food and places to eat around USM, yeah! Initially when I came here, I found out that the food totally sucked (eurkss, I never liked any food in *9 other that its nasi lemak). The food in Parit Buntar area is like a treasure waiting to be found and unveilled. The truth is, there are plenty of really good and unique food in this area!

Bagan Samak('river' food), Sg Kerian(Laksa), Juru Autocity(international), Serdang(fried porridge)

The first pic is Bagan Samak, where you can get really tasty 'sam mei yu' (3 tastes fish), I don't know why it's called 3-taste, probably cos it's sweet, sour and spicy? Err... You can also get really big prawns, etc. Since fresh water living are the main ingredients for most of the dishes, the chef need to have really great skills to make them trigger your taste buds! Next is the famous laksa near Sg. Kerian, at just RM2/bowl. Hehe, that's the reason I always have two bowls during each visit. The business is so good that the owner only runs his business on Saturdays! And usually you gotta line up to get your seat! Going a lil further from PB area, we have Serdang (which is about 25 mins drive from PB) for its famous 'fried porridge' (hmm, fried foods are supposed to be dry... so what's fried porridge really about?). This is the place that never fails to impress anyone whom I recommend the place to. Sometimes you gotta make advance booking before going too. Moving even more further is Juru Autocity, you can get any kind of food you want there basically. There are Korean, Japanese, Laotian, Vietnamese, Thai, Western and Chinese food, all centered in this place which is also loaded with luxurious cars from Honda to Ferrari. Don't know why the people there are so rich... hmm...

There are many more great places to eat which I haven't mentioned, but let me show you the ultimate place to eat here... TADAA!!!

Food fair in my house!

Haha! That's my place! :P The best part of it is that it's free from MSG, keke. And let me tell you something that may surprise you, I am the main chef!!! Ok, you must be doubting the taste of the food (maybe I am not good at making jelly :S), nvm... Let's see if you'll be lucky enough to get the chance to try out my 'sao sai' in the future. Hehe...

So here I am, wrapping my last blog from USM... I am gonna miss the people, the lifestyle, and this 'unhappening'(that's what everyone says, but I like it that way) place. Bye bye, USM...

Finally!

I am back! Haha, it's a nice feeling to know that actually PS has been waiting for my blog. It's late now... 5 minutes to 4:00 am :S My mind is kinda blank now, a result of lacking sleep and feeling all blur currently. So what am I gonna write?

Just gonna touch on some light stuffs. It's a great feeling to finally hand up my thesis this morning! Well, the due date was actually yesterday, but I was late as I had to wait for a long time at the photocopy shop and my printer was having some prob before that. You know, I felt so devastated when I realised that I couldn't pass up my thesis in time anymore, and that all my extreme (yes, really extreme as I only slept for about 2 hours or less for 3 days straight to rush for the report) effort were for nothing in the end. I even thought of not going to school to pass it up as the clock ticked 5:30pm since the admin wouldn't be there anymore.

But thank God He spoke to me, and led me to perseverance. I still strived to the very end and went to campus to try my luck. As expected (my unwilling expectation, really), the office was all pitch-black by the time I reached. I was praying throughout the whole process, from the very beginning of my thesis until... now? But God is so good, somehow the director of FYP and my FYP lecturer were still in campus! That was unusual! And it didn't take me a lot of effort to meet them as they were both in their own rooms only! In the end, I spoke to both of them with the evidence that I had already got my thesis done. Praise the Lord again that both of them leniently approved my thesis and said that I would not be considered as late whatsoever in handing up my thesis! WOW! The way every circumstance fall into place is just marvellous, it totally gave me a picture of how God plans the best things for me. The thesis wouldn't be approved without stamping from the admin, so I had to get it approved from the office early this morning. God did as He promised, the submission date was stamped as 26th March instead of 27th March, PTL!

Just wanna take this chance to thank KM for 'supplying' his printer and cartridge. Also thanks to MC for helping me to arrange the thesis pages accordingly and the AA papers as well. It's a wonderful feeling to have true friends around me who give me help and support in my tough times. Thanks alot, you guys!

Gonna share a quite an embarrassing pic here.
This is terrible... looks like some kinda warzone like some riots have just occurred, huh? (hey, don't go too far with your imagination on the jeans ok!!?) Err... I tend to get out of control with my tidyness during hectic times. I can tell you that my room was totally neat the previous monday.
Anyway, I got it all nicely tidied up! Check out the transformation! Hey, it took me like 3 hours to achieve this (basically spent most of the time packing for relocation). Errr... I think I did quite a good job, didn't I? :P

Exhausted...

Looks like I have been missing for quite some time from blogging. Well, I have been really busy catching up with my FYP, staying in the lab for more than 8 hours daily, already starting to experience my future work life of scrutinizing the complex circuits and tiny nodes of multilevel xtor... :S Let's not talk about that first. Actually feeling kinda fatigued now, so I am just dropping by for a short message to show that I am still active in this blog page. I promise there will be more interesting blogs to come after 26th March. Stay tune! Haha, sure many of you are happy I am not writing anything lengthy this time! HurRaY!

The Annual Bible Quiz!

What a fun night we had! It’s all about ‘blocking’! Ok, so here’s what happened, the annual Bible Quiz of CF is back! My CG which is granted with the name of the fruit of the Spirit --> Self-control is the defending champion of the Bible Quiz. We went with an expectation to defend this title! Hmm… 100 questions from the bible? We thought we were indestructible :P Oh, what a pride! Of course we were just trying to be positive and not being boastful of ourselves, that’s the way Self-control (SC) has always been, living to the fullest by being optimistic (or sometimes too optimistic? HAHA)

There were 8 from our CG who managed to turn up for the quiz, nice attendance! But then Aaron (one of our great hopes) was the organizer of the quiz so we lost one member for the quiz… Despite that, being as optimistic as we always are, we still thought we could win and must win hahaha. We even said, “If we get one question wrong, then we will just walk out of the door!” SC SC… always just making certain remarks for the sake of the fun and challenge. Whoops, we only managed to get #4 out of 5 groups from the first round, which was something like a jigsaw puzzle. Phew… what a relief to know that it was just a game to determine the sequence of the token ring.

The quiz finally started… see that 100 boxes in the pic? 100 boxes for the 100 questions, pick a number of a question, get it right, and you get to play bingo. The questions ranged from the very first book of Genesis to the book of Revelation. There you go… we had to strike a bingo of 5 boxes consecutively to be the winner. Tough game we thought… So what about ‘blocking’? Since we couldn’t strike our BINGO, we decided to BLOCK other group’s bingo. Selfish thoughts… repent repent… What goes around comes around (sigh), just when we were so close to striking our bingo, we got blocked by other groups, gone! That made us to be even more zealous to block other groups so that nobody strikes a bingo and hopefully winners would be based on the accumulative number of questions being answered.

Our efforts paid off eventually, with our group sharing the 2nd place with another group. I must say sometimes SC kinda ‘syok sendiri’, just bursting out in laughter and contentment with just a lil victory, but I love that attitude. That’s really the element that keeps our CG so lively and cheerful, not to mention always loud and noisy hence losing control of ourselves. Now I know why we are all placed in this CG called Self-control, haha!
Being the only member in red and the guys all in black, we were being called Men In Black and Lady In Red!

It was truly a memorable night with all the CF-ers, especially with my CG. The moments of being in this CG for 3 years are truly a beautiful blessing in my life. It’s wonderful to just encourage one another constantly, and seeing each of us growing together in the Spirit of the Lord, to where we are today. Self-control, continue to live up the joyful spirit, and continue to set our eyes on our Lord Jesus! Man, I certainly am gonna miss this CG a lot after I leave this campus…

Sweet moments captured during our CF meeting

I like the pics taken by our CF photographer, Joshua.

EE Farewell 2007

Finally a semi-grand farewell night is here after being in a public uni for four years. No, we don't get to have grand prom nights in public uni, somehow not many are interested.

Thinking back on last year's farewell, it was quite a disastrous one for me as I had to rush like mad and got myself in a mess for the farewell night. This year is a much better one with early preparation and I could take my own sweet time to dress up and get the make up on. After much delay from my coursemates coming from the other state, we only managed to gather at 745pm, initial plan was 7pm :S. There goes the puntuality again... sigh...

We strolled along the red carpet with warm welcome of loud applause and cheers, haha, felt like it was an award show or something like that. So these are the girls that I stepped into the hall with. The first (from left) with the sexy hot look, 3rd with the oriental make over, 4th with her self-made funky appearance, and finally the girl in orange with the all fairytale bridal image.

The tables were nicely arrange centered with a neat glass with a white lily in it. Okay... the service wasn't so good, I can't believe that after being there for more than 4 hours, the waiters only refilled the water once! Urgh... at one point i felt like I had the urgency to drink the water from the 'lily glass'! Perhaps it was my bad to not have searched for the waiters MIA whole night, probaly they were resting in the changing room or something. They just disappeared after the meal was finished, hmm...

Well, I am someone quite into photography and would appreciate the pics much better if the ambience of the hall could be 'captured'. Sadly, I could hardly find someone with stable hands or good techniques to snap some shots without blurring it out much (realise I use 'blurring it out much' as I don't expect perfection without a tripod... our hearts still beat after all). Well, guess this pic here is the best one among all the rest taken without flash. Quite a nice ambience huh?

The farewell was followed by a long sketch which was an impressive one, 3 dances and some other performances. The junior did an exceptional job in organising the whole event, it was simply amazing! They must have poured out a lot of effort in the whole arrangement. The closing of the farewell was a meaningful one, with everyone forming up the friendship chain, exchanging the friendship band, people shaking hands and hi-five-ing to one another, hugs... and a quiet moment of retrospecting the bittersweet moments we have had throughout the 4 years.

All of us truly enjoyed ourselves and treasure the special event organised by the first years. Here are some friends whom I usually hang out with. It was kinda contenting to see some of those who usually don't like dressing up to turn into princes and princesses on that night. Oh yeah, KC did a nice work on his appearance!
Heard they went for clubbing after that. I didn't follow though, was being the usual obedient child the moment I decided to just jump into my parents' car and go home to my town of serenity right after the farewell ended. Haha, I saved at least RM30. Sounds like I am going through a real student life with limited budget for extra entertainment. Seriously am a little broke lately to be frank!
